Office hours are WONDERFUL! Who’da thunk?!
I began offering zoom “office hours” for my current students and clients, after reading about other art teachers doing the same thing. It seemed like a great way to have unconstructed conversations with people, a way to talk with each other casually, outside of the the mentor/student, colleague/colleague or guide/meditator relationship. I’ve now held 3 sessions, the latest one just this morning. What a gift! I never know who will show up, or what we will talk about, but it really IS as if we are sitting in comfy chairs in my studio, office or my living room, having a conversation about whatever is touching us in this NOW moment. Beautiful drop-in conversations going deep, authentic, unmediated by specific content or artmaking. Since we don’t have the opportunity in Covid times to casually bump into each other and just talk, this allows us that same spontaneity and surprise…
Thank you to all who have visited me this way so far. Keep dropping in!
(Studio Time is similarly deep, by the way. Unconstructed time together, artmaking shoulder-to-shoulder.
