July 18-22, 2022. Fractured Self-portraits, in person, at Asif studios, with Margaret

prepare ahead of time for fractured self-portraits:

  1. get photos taken of yourself: have someone else take 3-5 photos of you, with good lighting. try different angles, and head and shoulders. images need to be hi-res, (1000 DPi in width or more). If you can, try printing these up at home or at a print shop, as large as you can on an 8.5”x11” sheet of paper (black and white OK). You will be rendering PART of the photo realistically within your artpiece, with pencils, paint, ink or pastels.

  2. look for other images: search for photos on your phone, or online, to use for reference or collage, that describe who you are, and what you love. print them out too, if you can, and make sure you have them on your cell phone.

Send images ahead of time to Margaret @ m.lindsey.art@gmail.com so she can help prepare them for the posters.

August 1-5, 2022. favorite phone pix

prepare ahead of time for phone pix project:

find great photos on your phone—that you have taken yourself: keep in mind that you will be painting these realistically, (most likely) so pick subjects that you feel comfortable tackling. images should be hi-res, (1000 DPi in width or more). We will crop them somewhat (or a lot) to compose a great picture.

If you can, try printing these up at home or at a print shop, as large as you can on an 8.5”x11” sheet of paper (black and white OK).

Send at least 3 possible images ahead of time to Margaret @ m.lindsey.art@gmail.com so she can help prepare them for you.
